CELINE DION RETURNS TO SINGING AND RELEASES FIVE NEW SONGS

RETURNING TO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY, CELINE DION RELEASES FIVE NEW SONGS

Pop singer Celine Dion announced the release of new songs on Thursday - her first since admitting last year that she was suffering from a rare neurological disease that was hurting her vocals.

Five new songs as well as classic favourites can be found on the new album Love Again, which serves as the soundtrack to the same-titled movie.

It is Canadian singer Dion's first following the release of her album Courage in 2019.

On May 5, theatres will show the romantic comedy directed by Jim Strouse.

Dion announced in an emotional video on Instagram in December that she had recently been diagnosed with Stiff-Person Syndrome and would not be ready to begin her planned European tour in February.

She said that the condition was resulting in muscle spasms and "not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I'm used to."

Dion started the Courage World Tour in 2019, and 52 gigs were finished before the COVID-19 epidemic forced the cancellation of the remaining dates.

Due to her health issues, she ultimately decided to cancel the North American leg of the tour.

Eight of her summer performances were completely cancelled, while her spring appearances in Europe, which were scheduled to start in the Czech Republic, were postponed till 2024.

The Grammy-winning performer was scheduled to go on her first world tour in ten years, as well as her first without her manager and husband Rene Angelil, who passed away from cancer in 2016.
